They are the future!
well, they are definitely exciting at the moment anyway, directional boards and bow kites up opened up a whole new range of possibilities for waveriding.
I was pretty anti the gybing thing at first, but its not too bad and its worth it once you are on the wave!!

Hi guys,
The directionals definatly are the future in waves. Though must say that a good waveriding twintip in a whole lot than less perfect condition is more versatile. However for the real waveriding the directional is the way to go.
Have tried the new Xelerator Epic's and these go off! These are the first boards I did ride that also go smooth in a straight line and are extremely responsive.
See where it ends. |

| Definately the only way to go - anyone waveriding on a twinnie is fooling himself. We have great conditions in Cape Town and think it has been proven that directionals have way more drive and pivot than you'll ever get from a TT. Learning to jibe has got to be the simplest kitetrick you'll ever be forced to learn and once that is in the bag you'r off. Unhooked on a C-kite or hooked in on a flat kite, whatever your fancy....the longer you wait, the longer it will take before you know..... |
