Hey everyone. I'm keen to find out about spots that are good for kiting close to Jhb. I checked the Spot Guide and noticed Vaal, Bronkhorstpruit, and Grootdraai dams are listed. Vaal seems the obvious choice if one is not keen on a long road trip to Sterkies or the coast...
So i'll definitely check out Vaal. Does anyone else kite at the Vaal? And if so, what's your experience with wind and local conditions there for kiting? Also, I noticed Hartebeespoort Dam isn't on the Spot Guide, but checked Windguru.com, and found that it blows above 10 there from time to time. Anyone know if Hartes is a worthwhile spot to prospect?

Hiya, yes there are many of us who kite the vaal, grootdraai, and sterkies, klipdrift dam etc.
Get onto our mailing list to see who's doing what and where, as well as all the local news.
windhounds@wbs.co.za gets you subscribed, www.windhounds.org to see whats gone on in the past.
