Hi All
I want to test the waters here regarding the continuously stricter enforcing of rules regarding life jackets on dams, particularly on Bronkies. (Guys have already been fined and threatened with confiscation of their equipment should they be caught again...)
While understanding the general sense behind the rules I personally feel that it can be downright dangerous to wear a life jacket while windsurfing. I would hate to be trapped under a 9 square meter sail with a life jacket that forces me upwards into the sail... What I would like to determine is who are the big thinkers behind the water laws and did they do any consulting with any windsurfing body in SA? Or have these laws once again been compiled by people that have no inkling of the effect of the laws on some people where it might actually have the direct opposite effect than that desired? Another classic case of South African tunnel vision!
Am I the only fool that believe I would be in bigger danger with rather than without a life jacket while windsurfing?
