I'm an aspiring kite surfer hoping to get some info. I currently live in Centurion and I've always loved anything where water is involved - diving, fishing, skiing and wakeboarding. I also have some experience flying stunt kites, although I haven't handled one in the past year.
Kitesurfing is next up on my agenda but I'm absolutely clueless and have quite a few questions. Hope you guys can help me out!
Some info about me: - I will very likely be spending most of my time at 'kitesurf-friendly' dams in the area as the coast is quite a drive. - I am 1.78m tall and weigh between 65kg - 70kg. My weight fluctuates on occasion depending on how much time I get to exercise. - I am pretty active, I try to exercise at least 3 - 4 times a week. My exercise mainly revolves around gym, jogging and mountain biking.
1. What sort of kit should I be looking for? 2. I've read that you need a different size kite for flying inland, is this true? How much do 'inland kits' differ from 'coast kits'? Could I use an 'inland kit' at the coast and vica versa? 2. Is it okay to buy second-hand? 3. How much should I be budgeting for on a kit? 4. Would you recommend paying for a few lessons?
Thanks!
